Speaking of cats, I was reading a huffpo article about a duck killer (yeah a dude swerved to hit a mother duck on purpose. A real SOB!) and a commentator mentioned about a miami cat killer. A freaking serial cat killer? What a !@$%%^%&& There are some serious sickos out there in the world. I am unable to comprehend how someone can feel such utter lack of feeling, kindness and respect for the life of another be it human or animals.

On a lighter note, a picture of my imac and I seriously love my 24' inch screen but I don't like lugging it about. I had serious backache after carrying it up to my room. I love my imac and that black see thru coverl I got it from sp3ck but due to some serious mix-up of the order, I got it free of charge. merumaru had to bring it back for me all the way from Singapore. Thank you melon ♡♡♡

I am happily typing all these using my new imac!! Finally my first Apple computer and its a 24 inch!! Exciting! Learning Apple talk. The keyboard is something I need to get used to. I do miss my show desktop on windows but I learned I could use expose so now, hello right hand shift.

Last night the girls took me out for dinner. I had korean food at Kung Jung and Strawberry Cheesecake at Delicous. Hehe thanks guys for the dinner. Today Melon lol came over and dropped off a gift she thought she gave rofl and an extra gift lol . Because of Melon I found a squashed dead lizard under the sofa and ugh it gave me goosebumps!

Yes my mum and I probably squashed the lizard dead under the sofa. Absolutely disgusting. Anyways thank you, guys/aunts/cousins for the gifts and (ehehe) . I have a lot of books to read now thanks to my cousin, sly and yan (lol).

Thank you Dithers for the birthday wish. It was a pleasant surprise XD. You remembered, thank you

Anyways next saturday is dinner party. Yay. Games and stuff. I had to re-do the dates a number of times and now its SET!! 26th of September. sweet. Off to play Devil Summoner.

A bar that emits a fog? Since its from UNO, I guess its some ~~personal hygiene product~~ hair product for guys but I totally dig the name tho, Fog Bar. Japanese people come up with the coolest names for their products. (lol I took a literal interpretation to Fogbar, really thinking its sth to fog the body with rofl but after reading the katakana there which clearly states STYLING (the kanji draws a blank) rofl.... ooops its a hair product then. lol)

Today is a good day and why is it a good day because its Michael Jackson's birthday. Even though he is no longer on this earth with us, his music and legacy will continue to live on. That's how amazing Michael Jackson was. So with that I wish him a very happy 51st birthday. I hope his children and family are doing well and happy.

I watched Labyrinth today and boy did I enjoy myself. It was kind of odd watching a very young Jennifer Connelly. She still looks the same tho, I guess, she is what people would term as a 'natural beauty'. She is indeed beautiful and I really do like her as a person as an actress. I really want to watch her movie Phenomena but I am too scared to watch it alone because I don't do gore well. I have two horror movie buddies, one is Melon (and she is not HERE) and the other is Jo (its too hard to do a sleep over).

I digress - Anyways, what I really do love about Labyrinth is the fact that DAVID BOWIE is in it! He so damn spectacular , seriously, the mullet looks damn fine on him (as illustrated by the pic above). He makes a mighty fine bad guy and the fact he can break out into a dance routine is an added bonusssss!!!

I really love David Bowie, Michael Jackson (r.i.p moonwalker), Freddie Mercury (r.i.p) + Queen, Cyndi Lauper, Boy George, Bonnie Tyler, Annie Lennox, A-HA and Whitney Houston. These guys are like my 80's icon!! I seriously couldn't care less what some of them do in their personal life. What I do appreciate is the awesome music and videos they came up with.

I told slydraco I would do an 80's music play list complete with download links (for f-list only) as we chatted about Labyrinth. It was an idea that popped into my head as something I would like to do.

There are some good songs in the last 2 decades but for me nothing can beat the 80's!!!!!!!!! I loved it - From the big permed hair, shoulder pads, flamboyant singers, bright coloured leggings, warmers, big loopy bangles, corny love songs, moonwalk and etc. I can never say enough how much I love the 80's. I owe it to my mum and the videos she taped for me and for throwing me infront of the tv so I'd get out of her hair. All the horror movies and fantasy movies of that decade rocked my socks off!!!! I don't have much memory of primary school but I sure do remember music and movies during that period. *daydreams*

merumaru goes @__@ at me when I excitedly recommend foreign movies to her. In all honesty the only reason I know some of these quaint foreign movies is because the actor in it piqued my interest. It does help that the movie sounds interesting so I am not 100% that shallow.

Anyways the reason I found about Les Choristes because the movie-fan site highlighted Jean-Baptiste Maunier as an upcoming actor to watch. When I read the synopsis of the movie on IMDB, it sounded positively charming, sweet and sad at the same time. Its like Dead Poet Society if you will and with such movies its kind of predictable. Despite it being 'predictable' Les Choristes is an amazing heartwarming movie with wonderful characters from the stern cold principal to the kind affable music teacher.

I loved the musical score of the movie and Jean-Baptiste Maunier actually sang in the movie. Not only is the boy an actor he is also a singer and a good one at that. There some of his movies I can't wait to watch and they are all french lol. I am even downloading Gerard Jungnot's (Clement Mathieu) movies. He seem so kindly and sweet that I want to see the movies he has acted in.

I had this craving for Sharks Fin noodle soup. Before animal activist get their panties all bunched up, my sharks fin soup is totally fake, as in, I use glass noodles instead of the real stuff. I made the soup using this recipe I found on line - Little Bowl Fins The recipe turned out good! My dad kept asking for seconds lol. I didn't use cooking wine but instead used red wine vinegar. Read up online and various people state that its okay to use red wine vinegar as the vinegar process removes the alcohol content.

The Satanic Mill (Krabat)

I have not read the book but had the good fortune to watch the movie last night. I had to download it of course since it never came down to Malaysia (if it did I had no idea) anyways its a fantastic piece of fantasy story telling.

The movie is about Krabat an orphan who was called to work at a flour mill owned by a sorceror. The owner of the mill promised to teach Krabat the dark arts once he passed his probationary period. As Krabat worked at the mill he made friends, enemies, found love and gain the confidence of the master. However he soon found out that the price to pay being an apprentice to the master was a heavy one.

The movie is excellent as it balances the character and plot development well. However if you are looking for some serious magic action then this movie is not it. There is barely any apocalyptic like fight scene between good and evil i.e. nothing like Dumbledore vs Voldermort fight scene in HP. So if you like that kind of action its sorely missing in this movie however the story trumps the lack of action and if you watch the movie you will come to understand why a fight in not really necessary. The movie is a lot about Krabat's personal development realising what is important in his life and rebelling against authority i.e. the sorceror. I like it for what it is. As for special effects, I think the scenes of the boys turning into crows is visually sexy, you got to see it to understand what the hell am I saying (laughs). I am after all just a girl XP.

If the guy (Krabat) with the pentagram on the forehead looks familiar, its no other but the boy from The Reader. I had a pleasant surprise when I found out (laughs), couldn't recognize him till at the end. *sweats* The guy next to him looks awfully similar to the actor in Anne of Green Gables (Gilbert) and obviously he is my favourite apprentice *laughs*. Tonda stood out right from the beginning of the movie and stayed stellar right to his end. The soundtrack is another major bonus and I thought the 'Allein Allein' (sp) song at the end was pretty good even though it is repetitious like Numa Numa.

Viking vampire can be sexy

Episode 3 of Season 2 of True Blood made me see Eric Northman the Viking Vampire in a whole new light. First season Eric Northman with long hair was kind of so so for me. First episode of the second season he scared the hell out of me. Eric Northman appears to be the monster he is but he made up for it in episode two and three. He had a hair cut, wore some casual clothes and suddenly he transformed himself into something very sexy (lol) and cute. He went mega hot on the vampire-o-metric scale when he bared his fangs in this devilish cheeky way in episode 3 (as shown below). Alex Skarsgard you awesome vampire you! I do hope Alan Ball includes the scene where he wears the pink tights. Please! Please! Please. That scene is such a must.

I don't know how I manage to last this long with 3 hours of sleep. I should have been dead to the world since 6 pm but I was really busy with editing my livejournal layout (I'm cross-posting from my blog - the wonders of b2evo).

My parents woke me up at 10.30 am, hollering at me to get my ass up because they wanted to go to MidV for brunch. I was sooo tired but decided to go along with them and what a good decision that turned out to be. Krispie Kreme (sp) finally opened for business.

I watched the movie last night itself but I ffwed through a lot of the scenes because its without subtitles and I don't understand French - so i fwed to Pierre Boulanger scenes. I have a crush on Pierre Boulanger *laughs*. Anyways the movie is surprisingly lovely, Pierre Boulanger a.k.a Richard's character is pretty minor. The main star is this character called Lucas.

The movie is like an American teen movie, romance, friendships, trials and tribulations and summer fun. The soundtrack to the movie is FREAKING AWESOME! The songs were part of the 80's that I didn't remember - like Dexy Midnight Runners and the Beautiful South. I am in love with the movie's soundtrack but its not for sale anywhere. I liked this french song Clemence was singing the morning after the party

I hunted for one of the songs that appeared in the movie: The Beautiful South - Song for Whoever. It played at the ending where Lucas kissed Clemence. XD~

Just look at the difference between a 20/21 year old Pierre Boulanger and his 15/16 year old self. The actor who played Maxime in the movie - the third stooge resembles Willem Defoe!
