The past few weeks have been madness. After watching This is It which I enjoyed immensely, I did some checking and found out the features which would be included in the blue-ray and I was sold. There will be a feature on the dancers and dance auditions. I love watching auditions especially dance auditions, these people are professionals and they can dance their ass off. So I told myself that I would need to get a ps3 before the blue-ray comes out. I was thinking of getting it around January 2010 but somehow after talking my dad about the ps3 we ended up buying it about 2 weeks back. Ever since then I have been glued to the tv, playing Metal Gear Solid.

I never knew war/espionage games could be fun. I did try my hands on Metal Gear Solid 2 on the ps2 (me thinks) and I couldn't get a hang of it and lost interest but Metal Gear Solid 4 was so much fun even though I had to play as OLD SNAKE. The dude was old but I liked him never the less. I do think the character, Raiden/Jack is pretty hot. Can't wait for MGS5, he will be the playable character for that game.

Anyways I finished MGS4 on Liquid Easy level. It is rather easy, I cant wait to try Normal Snake Level but only after I finish Valkyria Chronicles. Valkyria Chronicles is pretty good and its not easy. I have to plan out my attacks, I feel like a general and some of the fights are tough as hell. The battle at Barious was madness. Selvaria and her blue ray spinning javelin thingy freaking killed my soldiers. Maybe I am just bad at it but its good fun.

I bought Bayonetta too but its kinda mature. My dad would seriously give me the evil eye if he hears the character spouting of f-words. Seriously not a game for younger kids. I shall play the game when my dad is either asleep or at work. Hell I should be studying but I am really slacking off. Bad Ps3! In 6 months time, it will be Final Fantasy 13. I can't wait!!!

Its a mini rant below. If you are a twilight fan, please avoid!

Everytime, I see the Twilight advert popping up on Star Movies, I have this urge to throw a chair at the tv but I probably should take my own advice, 'take a chill pill, its just a silly movie, nothing to go ballistic over' but I just can't help feeling exasperated. Honestly, I liked the first book when I read it, as I said, I have a thing for angsty guys (he could have been a glittering zombie and I would have liked him) and I was okay at first with Rob Pattinson as Edward Cullen but then the whole Rpatzz/Twilight mania turned me off.

This is not a new phenomena for me. I used to have this crush on Leonardo DiCaprio during his This Boy's Life, The Quick and the Dead, Basketball Diaries, Romeo and Juliet and that drama he was in, with Diane Keaton or was it Meryl Streep (?). During that period, he was relatively unknown in Malaysia but when that ugly monster of a movie reared its head, Leo became a house hold name and suddenly a lot of girls in Malaysia knew his name. Yeah, I am one of the few girls who saw Titanic once and avoided any replays of it on tv (the only James Cameron movie I despise). So yeah because of his sudden popularity and Titanic mania, I avoided Leo's movies like a plague until I saw Blood Diamond. I know I sound retarded but honestly I am glad he is not that Leo anymore.

I admit I am a tad bit quirky/bitchy (?), I have this unreasonable dislike for anything that is over popular. I don't know why but I do. So yeah, my main dislike for Twilight is the mania that it is in. I mean its an okay book but not by any means the best ever. Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen is really not that great, in the first movie, (imho) he looked 'constipated', for a lack of a better word. It was like he was unable to emote properly.

It also doesn't help matters that his rabid fanbase has to talk smack about other actors. I know you like Robert Pattinson, its okay if you think he is the best ever but other people are entitled to fan over other guys. There is no reason to leave nasty comments about other actors. I know that its bunch of juvenile tweens leaving retarded comments but I can't help feeling rather irritated over it. Another irritating thing, is that these days when people talk about vampires, guys make fun of the genre, sayings its a bunch of pale wimpy pretty boys. Thank you, Twilight! Thank you for giving vampires a bad name. I now understand Del Toro's annoyance over the current trend over vampires but thing is I like vampires to look at least pleasant when sucking neck and not monster like killers in 30 days of Night.

I know its ridiculous getting exasperated over this trivial matter but it has been grating on my nerves for a while. Melon tells me I shouldn't bother~ I know I shouldn't but just can't help ranting about it. Anyways I for one will not be wasting my money on New Moon. Yech! Once was enough.

Sometimes I wonder why do I even bother? Why do I even bother doing something when I can't even get a reply. Its really rather tiresome. Maybe its just me pms-ing!

I wonder, did I give my classmate the wrong phone number. Now I am a tad bit worried I might have given the wrong number to Toys-r-us too. Damn I need to go back to that shop.

I am also suffering from memory loss. I saw a picture on my friend's facebook and I have no recollection of that night whatsoever. I don't even remember owning the handbag *aghast*. Do I need to eat fish oil now?

I feel like going to KLCC tomorrow and use up my vouchers. I forgot to pass Yan my Mr. Whicher book lol. We have to have breakfast one of these days since you have been craving for La Bodega's and I can pass you Mr. Whicher.

Congratulations to Brazil for winning the Olympic Bid. They will be hosting World Cup and the Olympics. That's pretty amazing!

World Cup next year! I can't bloody wait. Just a few more months!! A few more months! World Cup will be here and I shall be rooting for Italy.

Look at the goodies that my uncle brought from Germany. I tell you the picture looks deceiving but those tictacs are JUMBO tictacs. My cousin and I were enthralled by it when my aunt had the misfortune to show it to us lol. Well, actually she showed it to me first and I got my cousin to have a look at it and it became an affair lol.

I did a quiz on facebook and yes, I did say that I liked Godiva but that Knoppers there (in the pic) is MY ULTIMATE FAVOURITE!! My parents and I even fought over this particular chocolate wafer. I specifically asked my aunt to buy the Knoppers for me when she came for a visit early this year and then they were like ooh let us try and wham, love at first taste and my dad wanted my whole Knoppers pack. Ack!! No way jose~! (This is very normal in our household unlike other people, we are very TERRITORIAL over our snacks/chocolates/ice cream.)

This time around my aunt packed a pack for them too and instead of getting two packs of knoppers I got one. But that deep blue pack, I have a suspicion its a knopper but not too sure. The other is huge pack of hanuta's lol. YES! I LOVE MY GERMAN CHOCOLATE WAFERS!!!

What can I say, having friends over and home cooked food is a recipe for good times and laughter. Okay am amazed that my friends liked my sharks fin, I hope they do like it and not just trying to save my face LOLOL! Well we must do it again and I need to invest in some board games. Toy-r-us sucks to the core. I mean the board games they have instore is so bloody limited its not amusing!

I would like to buy cranium, apples to apples, sorry and trouble. I'd like to buy battlelore but I think, I need to save a lot of moolah for that. Jo is getting Lord of the Rings. Sweet! I invest in those party games. Cranium seems the best so far!

Last night the girls took me out for dinner. I had korean food at Kung Jung and Strawberry Cheesecake at Delicous. Hehe thanks guys for the dinner. Today Melon lol came over and dropped off a gift she thought she gave rofl and an extra gift lol . Because of Melon I found a squashed dead lizard under the sofa and ugh it gave me goosebumps!

Yes my mum and I probably squashed the lizard dead under the sofa. Absolutely disgusting. Anyways thank you, guys/aunts/cousins for the gifts and (ehehe) . I have a lot of books to read now thanks to my cousin, sly and yan (lol).

Anyways next saturday is dinner party. Yay. Games and stuff. I had to re-do the dates a number of times and now its SET!! 26th of September. sweet. Off to play Devil Summoner.

Equalize the odds

It's no secret I am a big 80's fan since I grew up during this period. Anyways from the 80's one of the most memorable tv shows was The Equalizer. I loved this show, I thought the guy was so amazing because he helped so many people and didn't ask for a dime.

It is indeed a great show and it boast so many actors. I saw Patricia Clarkson, Christian Slater, the dude from Fun House (JD Roth), Melissa Joan Hart, Meat Loaf, Tony Shalhoub, Luis Guzman, Adam Ant, Will Patton, Alex Winters, Bradley Whitford, Stephen McHattie, Frances Fisher and etc. There's so many familiar faces on the show. I loved it! Too bad it only lasted for four seasons.

There's so many episodes that I like but my personal favourite is Children's Song. I the episode because it features (laughs) William Zabka (prominently). Who is William Zabka? Why its Johnny Lawrence of Karate Kid . He was such a jerk in Karate Kid, I didn't like him much as a kid lol but I do like him in The Equalizer as Scott McCall . Too bad he didnt do too many episodes . I do sometimes like the typical Jock type characters but hey as Scott McCall he is very sophisticated , he is a violinist Another favourite episode is Shades of Darkness but because the story itself is interesting. I quite vaguely remember this episode from my childhood memory bank.

I am really a very poor cook lol. Flying oil sparks makes me run the opposite direction that's how bad I am with cooking. Anyhoo I finally made my macaroni and cheese last night. I didnt shred enough cheese me thinks and over boiled the macaroni. *sweats* I shall make summore macaroni and cheese later.

The other day I made fried parmesan chicken with breaded crust. I was quite pleased with the outcome although I ran away from the pan a few times.

I seriously love Johnny Depp. Okay forget meeting Gaspard Ulliel - I would want to meet Johnny because, no. 1 he seems lovely and charming and no. 2 he would not say no to an autograph. I am not a celebrity autograph hunter per se but I really do want Johnny's because he would kindly do it for you with a smile (i bet). The way he was doing that pen movement with his hands and actually signed autographs. So niiiiiiceeee!! and lol at the end of this vid there is an added bonus to Johnny Depp *rofl*. Those who attended this old Pirates Premiere are seriously lucky people.

Okay since I can guess some of my f-list likes Gaspard Ulliel *laughs*. I decided to share more awesome screencaps of Gaspard XD! I can safely assume I am boring merumaru to death with Gaspard Ulliel this and Gaspard Ulliel that but grin and bear it okay XP!

The only Gaspard movie I have no guts to watch or screencap is Hannibal. I am seriously terrified. I don't want to see him as a pyscho because I have seen him as Manech and I uhm don't want to taint that memory lol.

Anyhoo moving on... I took screencaps from Gaspard's movie, jacquou le croquant. Its about a pheasant upraising in some little place in France led by Gaspard. I watched the first part only so basically the caps come from CD1 of jacquou le croquant. I fast forwarded through CD2 and there ish NUDITY. Well its not extreme nudity but you can see Gaspard naked back clearly and that scene alone is too much for this fangirl. (I have seen Sam Merlotte naked back and Eric Northman's nakedness and they didnt even make me bat an eye-lid so uh obviously u can tell who I prefer *laughs*) Okay, Aki please collect your brain from the gutter and wash it with dettol.

Daybreakers

Its another 'vampire theme-ed movie' but I really do wanna watch this. Sam Neill, Willem Defoe and Ethan Hawke are in this movie and it looks good. I loved how they used the song Running up that Hill by Placebo. It's the perfect song for any edgy vampire movie!

I watched the trailer to Avatar and I am uh... conflicted! Can movie-goers relate to the movie? Judging from the trailer, the movie seems to be a mix of Apocalypto and uh...1000 BC meets Aliens. I am not being negative, I really do want this movie to exceed my current expectations (and succeed) but I can't relate to the blue looking aliens and their love story. I mean judging from the trailer it has romance bits in it but really I don't what to make of the movie. Oh well, Sam Worthington is in it - should make an enjoyable watch - I hope.

The Queen is coming

I can't freaking wait for the next episode of True Blood!!! I thought Eric might know how to kill Maryann (although in the book there is no such thing as killing Maryann) but after Bill said he knows 'someone' that might know a way of killing Maryann, a light bulb went on, I remembered reading on some news site that Evan Rachel Wood will be appearing as a Vampire Queen on True Blood so this may be it - it takes a Vampire Queen to kill Maryann. If so, I can't freaking wait!!! 2 more episode of True Blood and 3 more months of waiting *sobs*.

What I feel sad is that I wont be seeing Eric in pink tights/leotard as described in the book. The scene where Eric agreed to accompany Sookie to the orgy fest was so damn hilariously funny. He appeared in front of her door step wearing a pink leotard/tights - that description alone makes a really hilarious mental image. I wonder would it have been sexy?? Eric in pink leotard!!!

True Blood do have its classic and hilarious moments. Last week's episode cracked me up so bad - when Sam was arrested as he being led to his cell, Sam stared incredulously at the occupants next to his cell (assorted folks of Bon Temps) and asked what was the local coroner doing in jail and the reply he got from the coroner was along the lines of, 'I sodomized a tree. I guess it must be true because I have scratches all over'. That reply was so brilliantly random and so out there. I didn't even expect that in the slightest. Too funny. [After much reflection, if I was a resident of Bon Temps, even though Eric is mucho hot on the vampire scale, I would still go for nice and boring Sam Merlotte.]

As for this week's True Blood, there are so many funny scenes that cracked me up. Especially those that involved Jason Stackhouse because his reaction to everything that was going on in Bon Temps was priceless. His reaction to Hoyt's mama wanting to suck his face was particularly golden! I think I think I rather like Jason Stackhouse (lol) and this is shocking coming from me because I thought I could never like his character as he over boinked in the first season. I saw him as a complete horndog and disliked his character completely.

The sacrifice scene involving Sam was funny as hell when he went poof, shocking both Andy and Jason and then re-appeared wearing only an apron *ROFL*. Sam was cool as a cucumber as he picked up his clothes - I like you Sam Merlotte - I really do. You are a funny guy and I don't want them to ever kill you!! They can kill off Bill but they should never kill you off!

Dance Magic Dance

I watched Labyrinth today and boy did I enjoy myself. It was kind of odd watching a very young Jennifer Connelly. She still looks the same tho, I guess, she is what people would term as a 'natural beauty'. She is indeed beautiful and I really do like her as a person as an actress. I really want to watch her movie Phenomena but I am too scared to watch it alone because I don't do gore well. I have two horror movie buddies, one is Melon (and she is not HERE) and the other is Jo (its too hard to do a sleep over).

I digress - Anyways, what I really do love about Labyrinth is the fact that DAVID BOWIE is in it! He so damn spectacular , seriously, the mullet looks damn fine on him (as illustrated by the pic above). He makes a mighty fine bad guy and the fact he can break out into a dance routine is an added bonusssss!!!

I really love David Bowie, Michael Jackson (r.i.p moonwalker), Freddie Mercury (r.i.p) + Queen, Cyndi Lauper, Boy George, Bonnie Tyler, Annie Lennox, A-HA and Whitney Houston. These guys are like my 80's icon!! I seriously couldn't care less what some of them do in their personal life. What I do appreciate is the awesome music and videos they came up with.

I told slydraco I would do an 80's music play list complete with download links (for f-list only) as we chatted about Labyrinth. It was an idea that popped into my head as something I would like to do.

There are some good songs in the last 2 decades but for me nothing can beat the 80's!!!!!!!!! I loved it - From the big permed hair, shoulder pads, flamboyant singers, bright coloured leggings, warmers, big loopy bangles, corny love songs, moonwalk and etc. I can never say enough how much I love the 80's. I owe it to my mum and the videos she taped for me and for throwing me infront of the tv so I'd get out of her hair. All the horror movies and fantasy movies of that decade rocked my socks off!!!! I don't have much memory of primary school but I sure do remember music and movies during that period. *daydreams*

Electrical outburst

My scanner just had a fight with me as I was trying to scan the image above. It refused to scan it at 1200 dpi. Kept dying at the 80% mark of the scan process. *pulls out hair*. I do hope it kaputs on me sometime soon but I also hope that the scanner prices are REASONABLE?! RM150 maybe.

However this pose is not what I would call a (to coin my cousin's TM phrase) perfect kangkang. My cousin can sure come up with interesting descriptions *laughs*. Les Choristes (The Chorus)

merumaru goes @__@ at me when I excitedly recommend foreign movies to her. In all honesty the only reason I know some of these quaint foreign movies is because the actor in it piqued my interest. It does help that the movie sounds interesting so I am not 100% that shallow.

Anyways the reason I found about Les Choristes because the movie-fan site highlighted Jean-Baptiste Maunier as an upcoming actor to watch. When I read the synopsis of the movie on IMDB, it sounded positively charming, sweet and sad at the same time. Its like Dead Poet Society if you will and with such movies its kind of predictable. Despite it being 'predictable' Les Choristes is an amazing heartwarming movie with wonderful characters from the stern cold principal to the kind affable music teacher.

I loved the musical score of the movie and Jean-Baptiste Maunier actually sang in the movie. Not only is the boy an actor he is also a singer and a good one at that. There some of his movies I can't wait to watch and they are all french lol. I am even downloading Gerard Jungnot's (Clement Mathieu) movies. He seem so kindly and sweet that I want to see the movies he has acted in.
